{A Little of This, A Little of That}

So, things have been busy. As usual. Here is a little of the business stuff I have been up to.
I had my business cards redesigned a little. I super love the apple wallpaper. Huge props go to Angela and Jayne for all of their hard work on my graphic design. Angela definitely got me started and Jayne has been helping me with reworking my look a little.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so happy with how it is turning out. I'm going to have the business cards letter pressed. I'm excited to see the end results, and I know I will feel all official when I'm handing out those bad boys.
Here are a couple of favorite images from some recent sittings. I love, love the sidewalk chalk. I'm tempted to go out and buy my own. Maybe that can be Scott and mines next date.
Oh, you can also find me here, (I'm working on advertising a little too, you know).

{I Need To Go To Bed}

It is 3 am and I'm working on my website, again. I think this is the 3rd week in a row I have been up past 2 am. I not sure what my problem is. Here is a random picture of Scott and I that Logan took for us. Remember the State Fair pictures? I considered using it on the website in my about me section. It didn't quite work for that, but I still like it.
I'm happy with how the website is turning out. I just keep working, working on it. I think I'm at the point where I can put it out there, and not be embarrassed. Not quite awesome, but getting there.

{$10}

Yesterday I learned that for $10 Scott will eat a whole Jalapeno pepper. Maybe now he can buy me an ice-cream cone. I'm pretty sure he needs an ice-cream cone.

{It's Here}

So, although not finished I decided it was time to publish the website. It is still very much a work in progress, but at least I have some pictures in there and my pricing. I'm going to be adding to it every day to make the most awesome website EVER! Anyway, let me know what you think. I'm super needy about it. Staying up to 2:30 to work on it has made me a little crazy. Here is the link,

{Good Times}

Amazingly, I don't have any weddings this Friday or Saturday. In honor of my one free weekend Scott and I have tons of fun planned. On the docket,

Friday
Batman (yes, I know, we are so cool that we bought our tickets in advance)
Gallery Stroll
Nacho Libre in the park

Saturday
Farmer's Market
Ok, nothing planned here
Police concert

Doesn't that sound fun? It does to me. I need a little fun now and then.

Oh, last weekend Scott and I went to the drive-inn. I love going to the drive-inn. I love photographing with my polaroid at the drive-inn. The workers kept staring at me. I guess I was looking all old-school photographing their street cones and no parking signs with my super awesome camera. I told them I was an art student. Not really true anymore, but people kind of nod in agreement when you say that. One day I will buy a scanner. Maybe when I actually book another wedding. Got 2 so far--outside of SPP of course.

{Progress is Slow}

Here is an updated version of my website. There is still a lot to do, but I have some more pictures uploaded. It is taking so long. I don't really know why. I feel like I'm always working on it. Right now I am trying to solve the puzzle of why the colors are different. Notice the splash page logo from the logos within the website. It is the exact same profile. Go Figure. Color management is a beast. I am guessing that for some reason within the website color profiles aren't recognized--that used to gibberish to me too, but I am becoming wise in the complexities of color.
-Oh, just in case you were wondering, you can click on the buttons to take you to the separate websites. I have pictures in galleries in both the wedding and portrait side.

{You Know You Want To}

Scott and I have an extra pair of tickets we are selling to next Saturday's (the 19th) Elvis Costello and Police concert. Scott was getting a little trigger happy and ended up buying 4 tickets (he really, really likes the Police). Anyway, if anyone is interested we are selling them here for less than we paid for them. It is a sweet deal and a should be an even sweeter concert. Hope to see you there.

{My Candy Store}

I'm giddy. Today I'm experimenting with my two lovely b-day present from Scott. I giggled out loud when I used the Polaroid. I love the feel and sound of it--loud and clunky, and with a little present that pops (poops?) out. Who could ask for more? I bought one pack of film (16.99 for 10 sheets-ouch) and quickly went through it. Now that I know it works I will need to conserve my film. Maybe a picture a day?
The other camera is a Holga. I know I already have one, but this a fancy, schmancy, blinged-out Holga. I think I added too many features, because now the shutter release is near impossible to operate, but still, it's pretty sweet. Yay for birthdays and fun new cameras!

BTW, my favorite Polaroid blog is, www.mypolaroidblog.blogspot.com. Jen was the inspiration behind the purchase. I worship her from afar.

{Making a Garden}

I have big plans for landscaping our yard. I think Scott is tired of my big plans, but c'est la vie. Right now we have all of the plants pulled out of our front yard and are in the process of killing large portions of grass. It is pretty barren. One day (I repeat this to myself often) it will look all lush and lovely. In the meantime we have crabgrass and no shade.
To get a little inspiration we headed over to Red Butte. Man, they just do it right there. I wish they would come and plant my garden. It was great to see what we liked and then be able to look at the plant label right next to it. I don't know a lot about things like this, so I need all the help I can get. I think the idea is for us is to have big patches of wild grasses and flowers with lots trees mixed in. We are still keeping our regular grass, but we want our landscaping to be more water-wise and, hopefully, low maintenance. I think these plants and trees are pretty. As Scott would say, "elegant, yet functional."

{Umbrellas of Cherbourg}

Sometimes I like to watch foreign films. It is a coup if I can get Scott to watch them with me. I'm most familiar with French films thanks to 4 years of high school French. For a long time I thought I'd live in France, but I married someone who loves Italian so my allegiance has since switched. I thought I'd spotlight a few of my favorites over the next month. This weeks feature is Umbrellas of Cherbourg, a new one for me. I had been wanting to watch Umbrella's for a really long time and Scott was super sweet and got it for me for my birthday. The whole movie is sung and is a homage to American musicals. I thought it was lovely.
What are some of your favorite foreign films? I'd love to see something else as wonderful.

{Part One-4th of July}

Last year, when we bought the house, the very first thing the neighbors told us was that we could see the Murray fireworks from our front lawn. At that moment I decided Scott and I were throwing a Paaarty next 4th of July. So here it is, our real first party. Yes, we have been married 8 years, but we have also been renting for almost 8. There has never been the space...until now. Sure our house is only almost 1600 square feet, but we have almost a 1/3 acre lot. Plenty of space for bacci ball, croquet and badminton. Although the party wore us out, we had a blast. Thanks everyone for coming to Scott and Lindsey's 1st (but not last) 4th of July extravaganza.

Rourke, showing us how it is done old school.
Belle, Cinderella, Aurora. Avery later informed me that she doesn't like Jessie.

Velma, pretending to relax.
Never any pictures of the photographer. This is all I got.

Kyle (my brother), severely depressed that Shelby ditched him. 17-year-old girls can be lame sometimes. Cheer up buttercup.

I was super obsessed with my cupcakes.

My dad.

Amber pushed a cupcake into the center of the table where George couldn't reach and told him he could have it if it he could get it. That is my kind of parenting.

My sister.

I didn't eat all day (unless you count cream cheese frosting), but then for some reason I wasn't hungry for all of my food. Stress, you are bad for my health!

Oliver wanted to be everywhere at once. Avery wasn't so thrilled when he wanted her towel.

Colby (my brother) showing off his new gap. He pulled that tooth out in the middle of the bar-b-que. Hello Tooth Fairy.

Everyone now. Ohhh, awwww. So pretty.

{Teaser}

I have a huge (HUGE) 4th of July post coming, but in the meantime enjoy this cupcake. It took me all day to make these, but they were so cute, of course it was worth it. If you want a glimpse into my 4th of July morning, imagine me surrounded by 60 cupcakes, cream cheese frosting all over my hands, pants, face, counter and fingers (Oliver was very excited). I used a whole bag of powdered sugar (that would be 9 cups) and it still wasn't enough frosting. Maybe because so much of it didn't end up on the cupcakes. Sigh.

{Happy 4th of July}

View of the Murray fireworks from our front lawn. It was awesome.
