Lucy's 1st Halloween

Yesterday I was feeding Lucy and we heard the doorbell ring. Scott answered the door (I covered up) and Oops! It was trick or treaters. We had nothing. Scott was all like, "Sorry, we just had a baby. We don't have anything." Feeling like the louser candy givers we were, I remembered we had a ring pop and two pez guns in the kitchen. Scott quickly grabbed them and ran after the kids (scary) and gave them our meager offerings.

After that he went and bought some candy. While he was gone I was feeding again, and someone else came to the door. We didn't have any candy and I was, obviously, indisposed so I just quietly sat there. And they waited for 3 minutes. The kid kept saying, "Well their car is there" and the mom was like, "let's give them a minute, maybe they are watching TV." I wanted to yell, "Sorry, I'm right here, but half naked and I have no candy for you."

Finally, Scott came back and we were now prepared. We had Oliver in the house at this point, and he started freaking out when the kids came to the door. I put him in the kitchen and I gave the kids their candy, but he kept barking. I asked them if they liked dogs, but all 3 kids emphatically shook their heads no.

The rest of the day was spent visiting family who came by, eating the wonderful dinner that Dan and Tara brought, watching Transformers with Lucy and Oliver and receiving wonderful Halloween gifts from Scott (complete Halloween cookie and cupcake set-up...Frankenstein Spatula, sweet).

What a fun day.

This post cracked me up! Just picturing Scott running after the kids with candy. And you sitting there nursing, waiting for the kids to leave your doorstep. Let me just tell you, Halloween gets a lot more fun, the older the kids get. Sydney finally got to trick-or-treat, and it was even more fun for me watching her than when I was a kid. I can't wait to meet little Lucy!

HA!! What a funny Halloween :) That cracks me up about Scott chasing the kids down to give them a Pez dispenser. Classic!

PS- your costumes were great!
