{The Boy in the Striped Pajamas}

This movie is so sad. It left Scott and I speechless.

{My Inspiration}

Sometimes I get asked what inspires me when I take pictures. I decided it is time to finally let you all in on my little secret--Sexy People. Only the most fabulous website ever. How awesome are these photos? Almost too awesome for words, right?

I think I have some childhood pictures worthy of the site. Remember, Taryn, the Sears Portrait studio session of 1994? The multi-hued Gap camp shirts? Classic.

Question. Is Chad making people nervous?

{Thanks Oliver}

Scott and I had a little surprise when we got home tonight.

Oliver had,

A-eaten the dozen wheat rolls I had purchased last week from Great Harvest. I bought them in an attempt to be multi-grain conscious, but since the "sickness" started they have since lost their appeal. They sat on the counter for 10 days. For 10 days Oliver wasn't interested. But tonight he ate all of them, including the plastic bag.

B-An entire pack of Shick's Intuition Razors. They are the kind that have a soap bar around the razor. They cost $10 for 3, which = expensive. Luckily he didn't eat the razor, just the soap. There are now soapy razor bits all over the floor.

C-Paper towels.

What a weird and destructive dog.

{Daddy Daddy}

My cute cousin Kaitlin made this short film about my daddy-daddy. I was so touched by it.
Right now I only have a link, but I will try to post the actual video later.

Oh, the link only works if you have a Facebook account right now. Trust me though, it is worth taking a look.

{Ok, I'm Not Going Crazy}

I'm self-diagnosing right now but I'm pretty sure I had Influenza B. I had all the symptoms,

runny nose
extreme tiredness

and I have been sick for 6 weeks. Plus it is going around (I talked to two people today who have it). Instant Care didn't diagnose this, but I think they should have. Not like there was much I could do about it anyway. Sometimes, though, when I'm sick I wonder if it is all in my head and I'm really not sick but just a super wimp.

Anyone else out there have this?

You all know how much I love Halloween. Now I love it even more.
We just got back from the Dr. and all is good so far. There is,

drumroll please....

Sorry to disappoint all of you twin hopefuls out there. Now we just need to get through 5 more weeks before we can really celebrate and feel all official and prego and everything.

This is really happening.

{What To Do When You Are Sick}

Go on a ROAD TRIP to Moab!!!!

Yeah, that might not have been our smartest idea, but we had booked our hotels awhile back and I decided I could tough it out. Car drive + nausea = not very good. Despite it all (weakness, coughing, runny nose, nausea and general wimpiness) I had a good time. Hopefully Scott had a good time too--he managed to get my head cold but not my stomach issues.

I'm starting to think this nausea thing isn't related to my cold, but something else. Food and I are starting to be at odds with each other. All I know is nothing sounds good, but when it does I have to eat it right away or I lose the moment. The longer I don't eat the sicker I get. Scott was telling me what he had for lunch yesterday and I made him stop. In fact I need to stop typing this. Thinking about food isn't so smart either.

Anyway, the trip was fun, but we want to go back and do the hikes when I have a little more energy. I took lots of Polaroids (way more fun than the digital). I'll post them when I feel like scanning. Who knows when that will be?

{I Don't Get It}

Are these supposed to be cute? Are there lots of ladies out there torn between a boot and open-toed sandal?

I think these bootals are Uuhgly!

I bet the fringe gets stuck under the wearers heels. I bet people get confused and think there is a porcupine stuck to her calf.

{Drama Queen}

I have now been officially sick for over 4 weeks. Although the coughing has quieted down some, I have lost my appetite due to the constant drainage down my throat (gross, I know). I'm tired, nauseated, achy, still coughy, and have a world class head cold.
I have started saying things like, "I'll will never, ever, ever be better, ever." or "I'm going to be sick for the rest of my life and I just want to stay in bed forever." Forever and ever are two of my current favorite words. I have forgotten what it feels like to have energy, or to be able to move at a normal pace, to want to eat, or shower, or get ready, or exercise or clean, or cook. Blah! I'm so, so, so tired of being sick.
I think Scott might be getting tired of my drama queen antics.

{Where is my Apron and Tiara?}

Ok, I don't think it is any secret that often I am too busy to cook. I always have good intentions, but often as not I fail on the job. Right now I'm especially unmotivated--being sick for 3 weeks has drained all of my energy.
So, I thought this seemed like a dream come true. In fact, it is called Dream Dinners. He he. Would anyone be interested in trying it with me? It seems like you go, prepare all of the food there, freeze it at home, and take it out and bake when you are ready to cook. I love the idea. I think I lose the battle in the purchasing and preparation stage. Anyway, I thought it seemed fun and the food looks delish.

{Boys Are So Silly}

The other day Scott's dad called and asked if we had any names yet and Scott was all like, "No, we haven't even talked about it". I was all like, "What! We have only talked about it everyday and I have all of the names picked out. Where were you during all of these conversations?"

Oh, and I know I said I would be talking about secret bebe stuff, but what can I say? I'm a brash rule breaker and I do whatever I want.

{Cough Cough Go Away}

I think my body must be worn out. I have had a horrible cough for the last 2 weeks. It is the kind of cough where you double over and hack it out for 15 minutes. I have a spell about once an hour.

Supposedly coughing isn't dangerous to our minuscule baby, but it aint fun. We had it checked out and it isn't pneumonia, so I guess I'm okay. No medicine for me though, except some throat lozenges and Tylenol. The head cold isn't helping either.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will feel better before pregnant ickiness (i.e. puking) sets in.

{Early Birds}

Thank you for all of the comments. We are so excited too!

Of course, it is really, really early. Way earlier than most people ever spill the beans, but this process has kind of been a public affair anyway. I'm almost 3 weeks, and we are just praying and hoping that all goes well.

We found out Saturday, and I have to say it was scariest thing ever. We were supposed to go to the doctor to find out, but we were confused on the time and couldn't get the results until the next day. We had already waited patiently (or tried to) for 2 weeks already and I was out of patience. We decided to try a home pregnancy test and, oh boy, was I super freaked out. Watching for those 2 pink lines is the worst thing ever--pregnancy tests and I have not exactly been friends in the past. I was crying the whole time and when we saw those lines I remember saying, "we're having a baby!" and then bursting into uncontrollable, hiccup inducing sobs. We have a secret picture of my red, puffy face.

We don't have any details about anything other than yes, so far we're preggers. No news on twins yet. Wouldn't that be insane? We did get the call on Sunday and yes, we are definitely pregnant.

We just want to publicly say how very grateful and blessed we feel. This has been a long (hard) journey. Patience is not one of my strengths and at times I have been so discouraged. Scott has been a rock with a faith greater than mine. He always knew this would work out. I wasn't always so sure. We have felt all of your love and prayers and it has meant the world to us.

We are now going to be mum for awhile now while we wait to make sure all is good in the baby world. Until then it is back to my regular programming.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
