{Junior}

Last night I went out to the Great Salt Lake with Dan and Tara to do some maternity pictures. I love photographing Tara, she is such a natural and always adventurous. It was a beautiful night with an amazing sunset. We had about an hour of this fabulous light and so we made the most of it, despite seeing a dead, mutilated snake, dozens of rotting birds, and Dan almost throwing up in response to the "poo" lake. These are just a few of many that I love. You can find more here. Thanks Dan and Tara! I can't wait to meet "Junior" in person.

{B-Day Love}

So, I turned 30 last Monday. If you have talked to me in the last few months, you maybe picked up on the fact that I exactly thrilled about it. It isn't so much the age of 30 that was depressing to me, but the fact that I'm not exactly where I planned to be at this age. I know I wasn't ready for kids at 22, but I for sure thought I'd at least have a bun in the oven by now. Sigh.
However, I want to give a big shout out to all of my lovely loved ones for making my "big" day so fabulous.
I just got done with a wonderful b-day dinner with my family tonight. Everyone came down and we had a picnic in Murray Park. I love picnics. I love being out and people watching. I like sitting on blankets, eating fabulous food with my hands and trying to prevent Oliver from bomb-diving my plate of goodies. Dinner was fabulous (chicken wraps, homemade ice-cream, cupcakes) and the company even better. It was a perfect evening.

My boo, AKA Scott, AKA best-husband-ever, especially deserves lots of praise and adoration.
He had to work all day Monday (my B-day) and that made turning 30 even worse. I was so, so sad. Since I'm not really working any more (Ha!) I was way bummed out to be all alone on the big 3-0.
Luckily for me, Scott is super-husband and made sure I wouldn't be lonely.
He had little cards for me all day long that kept me occupied until he came home.
The schedule was,
11:00 Lunch with Lynette and Tara at Mazza
1:15 Massage at Breathe Day (they are the best)
3:30 Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Popcorn, Sparkling Cider, Tolberone bars, etc.... (I have been wanting to see this movie for a long time. He kept saying it was checked out, sneaky man.
8:00 Dinner with my hubby at Tiburon

The next day we both had off and were able to spend the whole day together. First we went to Finns (yummy!) for breakfast, Park City to ride the Alpine Coaster and later a picnic in the park (he knows me so well). He had planned to take me to the Spiral Jetty, but alas, as far as we could tell it was under water and that is way too long of a drive just to drive and see the Great Salt Lake.

It was perfect. I didn't have a moment to feel sad and instead I felt very loved. I guess there are worse things than turning 30. Maybe turning 40. Ew. Hopefully the next 10 years will be as exciting as the last.

{Dilly Dally}

Check this and this out.

{One of My Favorites}

I love having tinfoil dinners up in the canyon. I love the mountains, I love the s'mores, I love the fire and I love the charred meat. Scott and I try to go up several times during the summer. It makes me so happy. That is why I was so excited when Tara invited us up.
I do have to admit I was a little surprised. Dan is not so much a hiking, tinfoil-dinner kind of person. We have all heard the story how this one time (at band camp), he went on a hike and he was told it would be like a mile, but then it was 8, and all they did was walk to some stupid pond and he was soo, so bored. That was 12 years ago. That was the last hike Dan ever went on.
So, I had to wonder how Tara was able to convince him to go (quote of the night, "Tara, this is so much fun. We should do this all the time). But Tara's BFF Robin (who I was totally comfortable with since I have been blog-stalking her for months) was in town and how can Dan say no to his 8-month pregnant wife. Needless to say fun was had by all. It was a great start to Summer and, FINALLY, we were able to enjoy some hot weather.

How many s'mores should I eat?

Dan, in his newfound element

"Nobody knows the trouble I've seen"....Oliver not so happy to be confined. We finally took him off the leash and he was fine. We had had visions of him drowning in the river, or falling off the mountain.

These make the best s'mores EVER. Trust me. They are gooood.

{Purple Jelly Fish}

First of all, I just have to say I am working for the first time with my new MacBook Pro and it is so, so awesome. Yay! I finally got my computer for my company. It is sweet. Sweet, sweet.

Anyway, other than that I thought I'd post a few...okay a lot, of pictures from girls camp. I have been such a slacker lately it was the least I could do. I was going to write something fabulous to go along with all of these pictures, but instead I think I will let the pictures tell the story (along with a few bylines). Don't you love girls camp? I still remember all of the songs. I once tried to teach Scott, but for some weird reason he wasn't interested. Silly rabbit. Ok, without further ado, I present to you the Murray 12th ward Purple Jellyfish!!! (cheers and whistles)

These are the costumes we made for our "Ocean Idol" contest. Our performance was stellar. I particularly enjoyed the tentacle conga line...

Paula loved us. We won best purple plankton eater. I guess that doesn't say much about our singing skills. Oh well.

Here is my attempt to photograph my costume.

Camping feet. Amber, seriously, what's with the shoes. You look too pretty for camping.

My feet just got dirtier and dirtier. I smelled like a treat when I got home.

{Dog Nerds}

I thought I was pretty clever when I picked out a doggy father's day card for Scott's dad. It was something to the effect that we are same because, "you like to fix things, I'm a fixed thing, we both bark at other drivers", etc, etc.
I think it was that card that made me realize that Scott and I had become "those" kind of people.
You know what I mean.
I had to laugh then when the very next day Scott gave me this birthday card.

Scott's birthday card to Lindsey--each section is illustrated with dog doing said action.

1-Rise at 5:30 am, wet-nose the master
2-Go out and pee on the world (my favorite line)
3-Make poopy
4-Sniff poopy
5-Seriously think about eating poopy
6-Eat funny looking bug instead
7-Thow up bug parts on living room rug
8-Drink out of magic well (toliet)
9-Sleep for 17 hours. Start all over again

Ah, Oliver makes us so happy.

{MIA}

So, life has been busy. My posting record has been abysmal lately. Several times I have contemplated throwing something up, but inspiration never came. As you can see I'm still for a loss. However, I promise I will write a super interesting and insightful post soon. In the meantime you can check out some of my Brad & Savannah's pics on Green Apple,

Sorry, better posts will soon be forthcoming.

{I Love Ogden So Much}

So, (I can't break the habit) I had to go up to Ogden again. I mean, seriously, it is just a photographers dream. This time I ended up photographing Whitney's good friends Savannah and Brad. They were so much fun, laughing and joking with each other. Whitney and Rusty (new boy) came along and we all had a good time hanging out. I will be putting more pictures on my green apple blog in the next few days. I have a few pictures of Rusty and Whitney as well. You will have to check back in order to see those. I have to space out my posts or I won't have anything to write about. My life is just not that exciting. Whitney was also sporting a really cute short hair cut. So sad that all of my sisters are braver than me.
