So, I turned 30 last Monday. If you have talked to me in the last few months, you maybe picked up on the fact that I exactly thrilled about it. It isn't so much the age of 30 that was depressing to me, but the fact that I'm not exactly where I planned to be at this age. I know I wasn't ready for kids at 22, but I for sure thought I'd at least have a bun in the oven by now. Sigh.
However, I want to give a big shout out to all of my lovely loved ones for making my "big" day so fabulous.
I just got done with a wonderful b-day dinner with my family tonight. Everyone came down and we had a picnic in Murray Park. I love picnics. I love being out and people watching. I like sitting on blankets, eating fabulous food with my hands and trying to prevent Oliver from bomb-diving my plate of goodies. Dinner was fabulous (chicken wraps, homemade ice-cream, cupcakes) and the company even better. It was a perfect evening.
My boo, AKA Scott, AKA best-husband-ever, especially deserves lots of praise and adoration.
He had to work all day Monday (my B-day) and that made turning 30 even worse. I was so, so sad. Since I'm not really working any more (Ha!) I was way bummed out to be all alone on the big 3-0.
Luckily for me, Scott is super-husband and made sure I wouldn't be lonely.
He had little cards for me all day long that kept me occupied until he came home.
The schedule was,
11:00 Lunch with Lynette and Tara at Mazza
1:15 Massage at Breathe Day (they are the best)
3:30 Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Popcorn, Sparkling Cider, Tolberone bars, etc.... (I have been wanting to see this movie for a long time. He kept saying it was checked out, sneaky man.
8:00 Dinner with my hubby at Tiburon
The next day we both had off and were able to spend the whole day together. First we went to Finns (yummy!) for breakfast, Park City to ride the Alpine Coaster and later a picnic in the park (he knows me so well). He had planned to take me to the Spiral Jetty, but alas, as far as we could tell it was under water and that is way too long of a drive just to drive and see the Great Salt Lake.
It was perfect. I didn't have a moment to feel sad and instead I felt very loved. I guess there are worse things than turning 30. Maybe turning 40. Ew. Hopefully the next 10 years will be as exciting as the last.
