{Dear Lucy}

I love you so much. How could you have been in my tummy not even a week ago and I hardly even knew you? I'm pretty sure you have been here forever with us.
Thank you for eating today. I was so worried about you.
I love your sweet personality and and how you like to keep your hands by your face. I love that you love to be held and that when you open your eyes and look around, your face is so curious. I love the little sounds you make and how patient you are, even when you have had a rough couple of days.
I can't believe I get to be your mom.

She is precious and beautiful. Of course I love the name. What a sweet mother you are. I wish I could hold her!

You know the one thing they forget to tell you in those childbirth prep classes is that the first few weeks of motherhood are plain damn scary!
They never mention that it's not all Gerber moments and Hallmark cards, it's hard work, wonderful and fulfilling but also frustrating and exhausting.
Take care of yourself, do something "normal" like going to the grocery store. Sleep when you can, eat healthy, and enjoy this time, it passes ever so quickly.
P.S. Are you still pinching yourself?

We went to the store yesterday and watched a movie at home. It felt weird to be doing pre-baby things. It felt great, though, to take a shower.
I wish they told you how hard recovery is. Labor was easy. Recover is a pain (literally).
